Kino Lorber are working on a 4K/Blu-Ray release of the 1985 Clive Barker thriller, UNDERWORLD (a.ka. TRANSMUTATIONS), and George Pavlou’s RAWHEAD REX (1986) to be available for purchase later on this year.

UNDERWORLD stars Denholm Elliott, Steven Berkoff, Larry Lamb, Ingrid Pitt, Nicola Cowper, and Art Malik, and was directed by George Pavlou, written by Clive Barker and James Caplin.

In the film, Dr. Savary (played by Elliott), is a sinister biochemist, who has created a subhuman species that dwells in the London Underground. Addicted to Savary's mind-expanding drug, his creations suffer from grotesque disfigurements. The victims' only hope for an antidote lies in kidnapping Nicole (Cowper), a high-class prostitute. Roy Bain (Lamb), a fearless adventurer and Nicole's former lover, is hired to save her.

RAWHEAD REX stars David Dukes, Kelly Piper, Hugh O'Conor, Niall O'Brien, and Donal McCann

In the film, "Rawhead Rex" is a demon, alive for millennia, trapped in the depths of hell, and waiting for release. He is held by an ancient seal, imprisoned for centuries in a barren field near the hamlet of Rathmore, Ireland. In time, this gruesome legacy has been forgotten, dismissed as an odd pre-Christian myth until Tom Garron (McCann) decides to plow the field his ancestors knew better than to disturb. The seal is broken and an unspeakable evil is unleashed - on a rampage of blood and lust. Howard Hallenbeck (Dukes), an American historian on a working vacation in Ireland, discovers on the stained glass windows of a local church a series of scenes illustrating the reign of terror of Rawhead Rex. But the one piece of glass depicting the defeat of the monster is missing. Howard is desperate for an answer - for Rawhead Rex is on the loose, and he is insatiable!

Both films will be in New Dolby Vision/HDR Grade versions.
