BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA IS GIVING HIGH-END FASHION SOME FANGS

FRANCIS FOR COPPOLA’s pivotal 90s adaptation of DRACULA is without a doubt a feast for the senses. From the lush production design, the old Hollywood camera tricks, and of course, the costumes. Even today the film’s costumes stand apart from every other adaptation and vampire film to date.

Well, it looks like those costumes have inspired high-end gothic fashion house MICHELINE PITT DESIGN to craft a line that elicits and pays tribute to this seminal film. More information about this line and release is detailed in the press release below!

Los Angeles-based apparel company and high-end gothic fashion house,Micheline Pitt Design have announced a fashion collaboration with Sony Pictures Consumer Products inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. A Fall/Winter 2023-2024 Apparel and Accessories Collection is forthcoming.

“Bram Stoker’s Dracula is truly a dream collaboration for me, I still remember seeing the film at a local movie theater for my birthday when I was a kid.  It had such a huge impact on me. The costumes, the elaborate set pieces, the incredibly beautiful yet horrifying practical effects, I was nothing short of mesmerized. Being Romanian I have had a long obsession with vampires, especially the story of Dracula, so getting to design a collection that is so entwined in my heritage is a unique and rare opportunity. I love that both myself and my business partner Lynh Haaga can celebrate elements of our cultures that were so beautifully woven into the costumes of this film. We hope that others who grew up loving this dark romance as much as we did will enjoy all the pieces we have thoughtfully put together for this collection,” said La Femme en Noir co-owner and designer Micheline Pitt on the collection, which is inspired by sthe film’s costume design. “It is really unique with a very specific style that is unlike anything done before.”

La Femme en Noir co-owner and designer Lynh Haaga concurs: “Micheline and I were asked a few years ago by Rue Morgue Magazine ‘What would be our dream studio collaboration?’ We didn’t hesitate to say in unison, 1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula! The film’s amplification of character through costume is brilliant. We felt this movie was a perfect project for us considering Micheline’s Romanian heritage and my East Asian culture. We are excited to showcase our interpretation and hope we’ve created a unique collection with deference to the source material.”

This first ever fashion collection for the film will be a concentrated and a smaller capsule collection that is focused on the couture details of each garment.

“La Femme en Noir is excited to collaborate with Sony Pictures Consumer Products. We are also thrilled to help change the landscape of what licensing looks like with unique designs and collections that are fresh and exhilarating in the world of licensed apparel.”
