Looks like we’ll be seeing fan-favorite Kirby again, as Hayden Panettiere has been confirmed to return for the next SCREAM film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The news comes only a day after returning SCREAM cast members, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, who starred in January's reboot were also confirmed to be returning for the next film in the popular slasher franchise.

Panettiere played the snarky, film-loving Kirby Reed in 2011’s SCREAM 4, and in this year’s installment of the slasher series, it was revealed that she had survived her encounter with Ghostface, leaving many fans wondering if the character would be returning again.

Plot details for the new installment are being kept under wraps but Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures said the new film “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”

Principal photography is slated to start this summer and will again be directed by the filmmaking duo of Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett), along with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick returning to co-write the screenplay.
