KILLER DOC “LIVING WITH CHUCKY” NEW CLIP SHOWS ORIGINS TO JENNIFER TILLY’S ROLE WITH THE KILLER DOLL

The anticipation for the new Chucky documentary “Living with Chucky” keeps growing with a newly released clip featuring Chucky franchise star Jennifer Tilly, who was introduced into the franchise in 1998’s “Bride of Chucky”. Since then, she has brought more terror, delight, and original kills to the series as much as the Chuck man himself. Tiffany, the killer bride doll has sliced and diced a variety of victims from then all the way to the newest addition to the franchise with the “Chucky” TV series. As she continues to masquerade as “Jennifer Tilly” (a parody of the real actress herself), while enjoying the lap of luxury, watching “Liar, Liar” and enjoying some blood and gore of her own.

In this new clip, we hear the origin of Jennifer Tilly’s introduction to the Chucky franchise, meeting Don Mancini for the first time, as well as meeting the killer doll himself Chucky. Just from the clip alone, it makes me that much more excited to hear all the amazing behind-the-scenes stories from the cast and crew we have come to love throughout the years. The documentary has a lot of great things coming our way with the collector’s edition Blu-ray coming out after the April 4th digital premiere on the Screambox streaming service, as well as on all major digital platforms. The collector’s edition special features include:

For those who don’t know about the upcoming “Chucky” franchise documentary, I ask this, where have you been? This fresh new look into the world that Don Mancini and his crew created is alluring all on its own, but even more so when you get to hear Kyra Elise Gardner’s side and the experiences that she had while growing up on the set of the movies, thanks to her father’s work on the crew. From what I can tell just by the trailer and this new clip, this documentary not only is going to be an instant classic but also one that will definitely make you want to rewatch it many times over. Here is a bit about the documentaries synopsis and what you can look forward to:

Official Synopsis:

“Living with Chucky” takes an in-depth look at the groundbreaking Child’s Play franchise from the perspective of a filmmaker who grew up within it. Featuring interviews with cast and crew such as Abigail Breslin, Adam Hurtig, Alex Vincent, Billy Boyd, Brad Dourif, Christine Elise McCarthy, Dan Povenmire, David Kirschner, Don Mancini, Elle Lorraine, Fiona Dourif, James A. Janisse, Jennifer Tilly, John Waters, Kyra Gardner, Lin Shaye, Marlon Wayans, Tony Gardner, Tony Timpone and many more. This personal film recounts the dedication, creativity, and sacrifice that went into making the franchise and its long-lasting impact on the horror community.

Storming into pop culture in the late 1980s, the three-foot menace known as Chucky, proved that Child’s Play” was anything but. The horror film spawned six sequels, a television series, a reboot, comic books, a video game, and merchandise.

Written and directed by Kyra Elise Gardner, daughter of legendary special effects artist Tony Gardner, “Living with Chucky” looks back at the groundbreaking horror franchise by those there from the beginning. The documentary details the history of the Child’s Play” films by the cast and crew, in addition to Gardner’s own relationship with the series and the impact it had on her family. Gardner, who grew up alongside Chucky the killer doll, seeks out other families involved with the Child’s Play” films as they recount their experiences working on the franchise and what it means to be a part of the "Chucky" family.

About the filmmaker/director Kyra Elise Gardner

With a dad in special effects makeup, blood, and guts became normality for Kyra at a young age. Combat nursing was her first goal, but she soon discovered that real blood is way grosser than the fake stuff. She's been pursuing a career in directing since attending Florida State's film program and plans on creating quirky fantastical films from the lore of her unconventional childhood.

Not much else is known about the documentary other than that, but I am sure those who are as excited as me about seeing it, will not be disappointed. Getting a chance to see all of the hard work, love, and dedication to the franchise that this documentary has already shown will most likely be even better once we all get a chance to view the whole thing. I personally have been a fan of the franchise since I was a little kid and now being a 37-year-old man getting to still able to experience all new types of entertainment within the franchise but also getting to enjoy that little extra with like this documentary.

“Living with Chucky” will be available on Screambox and all major digital platforms on April 4th in the US and Canada. Don’t forget to get your collector’s edition Blu-ray with all the great special features mentioned in this article on April 18th.
