Two New EVIL DEAD Films Are In Development; Sébastien Vaniček & Francis Galluppi Directing

Evil Dead (2013)

We knew that Sébastien Vaniček (Infested) would be directing the next installment in the ongoing Evil Dead franchise but today we have learned that he’s not alone when it comes to directing another blood bath on screen as Deadline reports today that Ghost House Pictures has just hired Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) to write and direct yet another brand new Evil Dead movie!

Deadline adds, “The project is described as an original story that Galluppi developed and brought to Raimi and team. No word on a plot or who will be producing, as it’s early days here.”

It’s similarly early days for Sébastien Vaniček’s untitled Evil Dead movie, which we know nothing about at this time. So stay tuned for all that news coming soon.

Sam Raimi, who created the Evil Dead in the first place along with Bruce Campbell, has been hand selecting directors to take the franchise in new and bloody places since the 2013 Fede Alvarez remake did so well amongst fans and the box office so we’re eager to see what these up and coming directors have in store for the deadites and Necronomicon.

“Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence. He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut,” producer Sam Raimi told Deadline in an official statement.

We’ll keep ya posted on more as it comes.
